We provide a safe space for participants to express their trauma through creative outlets. Our workshop gives them a voice to be seen and imagined, amplifying the silent screams of their trauma.
Our Trauma Theater program supports 15 participants each year, providing them with a year-long creative outlet for processing their trauma. Over the course of the program, participants will have the opportunity to write and produce a stage play that give voice to their experiences and emotions. At the end of the program, each participant will have a manuscript of their play, and they will have the option to showcase their work in front of a live audience.
Through the process of writing and producing their own play, participants in our Trauma Theater program are able to reframe their traumatic experiences and gain new perspectives on their lives. Seeing their stories played out on stage as a third party allows them to forgive themselves and the individuals who caused the trauma, leading to healing and emotional growth. This transformative process not only empowers program participants to reclaim their narratives but also provides a powerful tool for building resilience and moving forward from their past experiences.
This innovative program is a specialized form of therapy that utilizes the performing arts to help children rewrite their traumatic experiences and gain new perspectives on their lives.
This isn't your typical kids' play. Our Trauma Theater program empowers participants to become playwrights and producers, enabling them to rewrite the traumas in their lives and change their trajectories.
Writing therapy has proven to be an effective tool for helping children work through their trauma, and we plan to offer ongoing support to program graduates. This may include opportunities for continued writing and creative expression, access to counseling services, and participation in alumni events and support groups. Our goal is to help program participants develop the skills and resilience they need to thrive beyond the program, and to build a supportive community of individuals who share a common bond through their creative work.
After completing our Trauma Theater program, each participant will have the opportunity to showcase their play in a private screening for family and friends.
This provides a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their work and the stories that they have crafted.
Not only do participants have
the chance to write and produce their own play, but they also have a say in the casting process. By taking control of their own narratives, participants are empowered to create a meaningful and cathartic experience that can help them move forward from their trauma.
For those who turn 18 during the program, they will have the option to continue working with the theater group as a crew member or company member. This provides a unique opportunity for program graduates to stay connected with the supportive community they have built and to continue using the performing arts as a tool for healing and growth.

We are excited to announce that our Trauma Theater program has been incredibly successful in helping vulnerable children work through their trauma using the performing arts. However, we have reached a point where we need a permanent home for our program to continue to grow and serve more children in need.
We are reaching out to our community and supporters to help us acquire a theater home for our program. With a permanent space, we can offer more workshops, rehearsals, and performances, providing a safe and stable environment for these children to heal and express themselves.
Your help can make a significant difference in the lives of these children. By donating to our cause, you are not only investing in a theater home but also investing in the emotional well-being and future of these children. Please consider donating today to help us acquire a theater home and continue to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
